If you are in this part of Washington make sure to pay a visit to Hanks Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Olympic Mountains. There's so much to do here at Hanks Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Nahwatzel Resort is a glorious place for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Vance Creek. You'll meet a lot of folks from Shelton here, and Super 8 Motel - Shelton is a good spot to get

| | some rest. For the period of the summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Hanks Lake; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; nighttime lows at Hanks Lake during the winter typically drop into the 30's.
