  Hanks Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains. On Skokomish River - South Fork close by you find the 11-mile-in-distance Browns Creek to Vance Creek section of grade IV-V whitewater. Don't go whitewater paddling on this segment of Skokomish River - South Fork unless you believe your whitewater paddling skills are very magnificent. Vance Creek has a category IV part of whitewater close by. The 3.5-mile-in-distance FS 2350 to Vance Creek Bridge section
    is great to raft. This part of Vance Creek is an enjoyable part for whitewater boating. Whitewater paddling may get perilous, so check current conditions prior to departure.
