    Do stop by Gulch Lakes while you're in this part of Washington. A fine spot to camp here at Gulch Lakes is Silvertip Campground; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Alpental is reasonably near. All the water falling down from the sky makes Gulch Lakes a wet place; November is the wettest month with most rain while July is typically the driest month. During the long summer days at Gulch Lakes highs are regularly in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Throughout  
   the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Gulch Lakes dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lost Creek Ridge Trail is always a great adventure, and some of the water nearby flows, like Quartz Creek. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range. One of the principal marks of the surroundings of Gulch Lakes is Crested Buttes, and a day on the slopes of Stephens
 
               Pass is just what you need.
But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. There are some great whitewater spots on Skykomish River - North Fork, and a lake nearby is Foggy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Meadow Mountain Trail, and a good place nearby is Big Gulch.
Having a tremendous time in the Northern Cascade Range is trouble-free. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Silver Creek; Gulch Lakes is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Hops Hill Campground is a fine local campground. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining stuff just keep reading. There are great locations to explore along the Camp Creek Ridge Trail, and Weeden Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by.
