Gravelly Lake is a lake worth visiting. There's a forest here at Gravelly Lake called McCall Woods, and after a long day outdoors Fort Clarke Motel is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. If you need a location to stay Biltmore Hotel is a pleasant choice, and camping at Oaknoll RV Park is always a fine experience. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Rainier Villa Mobile Park and RV, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for
you then, we recommend Nisqually River.
All through the months of summer here at Gravelly Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Gravelly Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Clover Creek flows through this vicinity, and you'll perhaps meet some folks from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue here. Swamps like Crawford Marsh are fun to check out; if you've had enough of Gravelly Lake, Boyles Lake is nearby.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Gravelly Lake a wet location; throughout December this area sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture.
