The Lake Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and Grand Lake is a delightful spot to visit for more than one day, Deer Park Campground is a delightful spot to camp nearby. If time allows, Olympic National Park is a national park worth a visit, and Grand Lake is right by the Baldy Trail. Through the days of summer highs here at Grand Lake get into the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The winter       comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Grand Lake are in the 30's. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Elwha River; most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Moose Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge is a magnificent place to do that; if you need a place to stay Days Inn Port Angeles is a great choice. But wait,                  there's more enjoyable things to do in the Olympic Mountains. Hiking along the Little River Trail is pleasant fun, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Port Angeles. This lake is located in the wonderful Olympic Mountains. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Grand Lake has it all. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Grand Lake has to offer, you can camp at Heart of the Hills Campground; if you come at the right time of year, Gray Wolf River offers some glorious whitewater. All the water falling down from the sky makes Grand Lake a wet location; December is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is July. Having a wonderful time in the Olympic Mountains is trouble-free.
