All year is a nice time in the Northern Cascade Range if you fancy the outdoors. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Gehrke Lake has to offer, you can camp at Nisqually Plaza RV Park. High temperatures at Gehrke Lake throughout the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Gehrke Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter

| | nights. This place, Gehrke Lake, it simply has so much outdoors exciting stuff. For you golfers we recommend close by Nisqually Valley Golf Course; Inman Lake is a nice lake nearby. So many entertaining things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too magnificent to be true. The nice folks of Olympia like to hang out nearby. There's so much to do here at Gehrke Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Martin way Mobile Home Park is a wonderful location | |

for that. While you're here at Gehrke Lake it's a tremendous idea to go to Ruth Prairie. Lakes? Sure, Lake Fifteen is close by. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express OCEAN SHORES is a pleasant place
to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Nisqually River. The high level of rainfall makes Gehrke Lake a reasonably wet place; the wettest month of the year is
mostly December, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range. If you need a spot to stay Thornewood Castle Inn And Gardens is a good choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Deschutes River offers some magnificent whitewater.

Nisqually River
 | ...d (27 now). The thing you should know about the Nisqually is that it is like most rivers, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over the cars and not instantly blow there raft apart.. Just keep a good ... |
