You truly have to like the Northern Cascade Range. There are good locations to explore along the Middle Fork Trail, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Snoqualmie/Summit is a good site to spend a night or two. Man, is there heaps of exciting stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. This is a good vicinity for people who like lakes. Rockdale Lake is a lake in close proximity, and Olallie Meadow is right here at Frog Lake. Now, you may imagine that's

| | a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Frog Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Frog Lake a reasonably wet spot; during January this area sees the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. Don't leave Frog Lake without first going for a hike along the Pratt Lake Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Frog Lake has to offer, you can camp at Crystal Springs Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might | |

be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Surveyors Lake, and skiing at Snoqualmie is one of those things you just should do. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Frog Lake temperatures are regularly
in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Frog Lake dip into the 30's.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Annette Lake Trail is always a glorious adventure, and Frog Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Commonwealth Campground is a great location to camp nearby. Glide
down the rapids of Snoqualmie River - South Fork in a kayak, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Alpental. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Frog Lake. Franklin Falls is an inspiring
place to stop by during your stay; get yourself into a kayak and hit Dingford Creek. Mount Catherine is wonderful and can be made out from Frog Lake, and Denny Creek is close to Frog Lake and is always a joy to pop by. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range.

Pacific Crest Trail - section 25
 | Roundtrip Distance 17.4 miles Elevation Gain 2,574 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. For these particular mountains, it is imperative that the hiker carry a compass (and know how to use it) and topographic map.... |
Lake Pugsley

Honey Lake
 | 13 miles away The lake no longer has any trails to it. All trails are gone from nature reclaiming it. The only way into lake is through quartz creek road(no vehicles)2.5 miles. From there it is a bushwack up to the ridge(2000 ft). From the ridge you can see honey lake. 1000 feet down. The bush is thick in that area (45 degree angle going up and down(or it seem that steep). 15 years ago some guys fished out the lake in one day. Before tha the fish were between 18 to 24 inches rainbow. If you can make it you deserve the good fishing. Haven't fished there in 20 years it may not have any fish in it or it has big fish (I dont know never made it close enough recently to fish). Good luck.

There was talk that they would not fill it any more....Just heard that Bonnie Lake is drained in the winter and then refilled in the Spring. Can you tell me why?... |
Stephens Pass
 | 17 miles away 1 PHOTO Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out... |
