You get a fine view of First Thought Mountain from First Thought Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Pierre Lake Campground is a wonderful campground nearby; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Colville. Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is a nice place next to First Thought Lake, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling       on Kettle River. First Thought Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Kettle River Campground is a good place to camp nearby, and Sherman Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. High temperatures at First Thought Lake all through the months of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures                  at First Thought Lake drop into the 10's.
