If you're looking for a beach near Fire Pond, we recommend Johnsons Beach; Fire Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Williams Lake Resort is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Negro Creek is a great location to stop by, and Willow Springs Motel near EWU is a wonderful place to get some rest. Summer at Fire Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the       40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Fire Pond temperatures plunge to the 20's. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Fire Pond, so little time. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHENEY-UNIVERSITY AREA is a great location to spend a night or two, and Fire Pond is not far at all from Pullman. This is a fine region for folks who like lakes. Castle Rock Lake is a lake nearby,                  and a magnificent place to camp here at Fire Pond is Peaceful Pines Camp Ground. Lakes are perfect; Miller Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Fire Pond, and don't leave Fire Pond without first checking out Castle Rock.
