 | 17 miles away Roundtrip Distance 13.4 miles Elevation Gain 2,598 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. Lake Christine
 | 18 miles away July 19, 2008-- We hiked up to Mt. Beljica this date. I would not recommend it just yet because of the unusually heavy snowfall last winter, unless you're very familiar with the trail. The entire trail is still snow covered from Lake Christine on up to the top of Mt. Beljica. We lost the trail, and then found it again.... that was a bit unnerving.... |

White Pass
 | 21 miles away ...The White Pass experience starts with a bountiful snowfall (350'' in an average season) and with the highest base elevation on the crest of the Washington Cascades. The resort strikes a perfect balance between pulse quickening steeps, wide open cruisers and gentle learning areas with 33 percent of the terrain geared toward experts, 43 percent toward intermediates and 24 percent toward beginners. Nothing gets you to the top faster than the Great White Express, Washington's only Doppelmayr high-speed detachable quad. Great White can take you from the base to the summit in five minutes. White Pass is recognized as one of the greatest mountains to ride in the Northwest. Natural quarter-pipes, kickers, drops, cornices and chutes challenge even the most experienced boarder. It offers a half-pipe. It's got one of the most scenic and well-maintained cross-country areas in the Northwest. The 18 km of double track, which allows both classic and skating, circles a picturesque lake and then climbs into the Wenatchee National Forest. The White Pass Learning Center has developed a w... |
