There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Icicle Creek, and Enchantment Lakes is not far at all from Ellensburg. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. If you need a location to stay Best Western Icicle Inn is a splendid choice, and Colchuck Pass is a tremendous place to spend some time. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Teanaway River - North Fork; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Snow Lakes Trail. So many exciting things to do at Enchantment Lakes, so little time. The Miller Peak Trail is a good hiking trail right next door to Enchantment Lakes; the top of Cannon Mountain is easily made out from Enchantment Lakes. This lake is so wonderful.
