Roy's Motel and RV Park is a good local campground, and some of the water close by flows, like Coldwater Creek. Elk Lake is a wet site that gets a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily December, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Man, is there a heap of       cool things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Elk Prairie is right here at Elk Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Coldwater Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things near Elk Lake. Elk Lake is a delightful location to visit for more than one day, Quartz Creek Big Trees Campground is a delightful location to camp nearby. Lakes? Sure, Hanaford Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. So much fun stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade                  Range, too good to be true. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Elk Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's.
