Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Olympic Mountains. A tremendous site like Glacier Meadows here at Elk Lake is too fine to miss, and if you came for an overnight stay Indian Valley Motel and RV Park is a good place to camp. That right there is plenty already, but it       goes on; Elk Lake has it all. Why not camp at Altair Campgrounds if you're here at Elk Lake, and unsurprisingly, this is a delightful neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Heart Lake is a lake in close proximity. Glacier Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay, and if you're stopping by from Port Angeles, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Soleduck Trail, and a delightful spot for whitewater paddling                  is Elwha River. This lake is so wonderful. Olympic National Park is one of the destinations in the neighborhood of Elk Lake that are pleasant to go to, and a great nearby hotel is Lake Quinault Lodge. There are good sites to discover along the Happy Lake Ridge Trail, and almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Haigs Lake is just a very short distance away. Snow Dome is a peak you can see from Elk Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Quinault River - North Fork. Just can't get enough of the Olympic Mountains. Going for a hike on the Boulder Lake Trail is always a great adventure, and Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge is a very popular ski area around here. Elk Lake gets a good deal of water; December is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the summertime here at Elk Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's.
