Elk Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. So many exciting things to do in the Olympic Mountains, not enough time. If you need a site to stay Dew Drop Inn Motel Forks is a good choice, and a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Hoko River. The high level of rain makes Elk Lake a pretty wet site; December is when you get the most rain here; August is when it's the driest. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Elk Lake; Allens

| | Bay Trail is a fine local trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Coho Resort-rv Park and Marina. This lake is so wonderful. A day at wonderful Sooes Beach right next door to Elk Lake is a great thing to do, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Calawah River. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Olympic Mountains. If only | |

every place had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great earth it would be. There's good hiking along the South Sand Point Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Kalaloch Lodge. It's a good idea to check out East Branch
Umbrella Creek, it's close to Elk Lake, and Elk Lake is a pleasant site to camp, Angler's Hideaway is a pleasant site. At Elk Lake during the summertime highs are in the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Daytime
highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Elk Lake. Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains.
