Granite Lake
11 miles away Granite Lake has crystal clear water, is surrounded by a very primtive campground. I don't recall how many campsites there are, but I have never been there when there was more than one other party. The surrounding area is incredibly beautiful, well worth the extremely rough road in. 4 wheel drive only. There is an abandoned copper mine in the area, and if you can find the trailhead, (good luck), the scenery is breathtaking. I've been to the mine 3 times. Watch out for bears! There is a ghost town below the copper mine. Very little is left. There are picnic tables, no water and no bathrooms. Come prepared....
White Pass
15 miles away ...ly, family-oriented atmosphere. It's what makes White Pass a ski and snowboard paradise. The White Pass experience starts with a bountiful snowfall (350'' in an average season) and with the highest base elevation on the crest of the Washington Cascades. The resort strikes a perfect balance between pulse quickening steeps, wide open cruisers and gentle learning areas with 33 percent of the terrain geared toward experts, 43 percent toward intermediates and 24 percent toward beginners. Nothing gets you to the top faster than the Great White Express, Washington's only Doppelmayr high-speed detachable quad. Great White can take you from the base to the summit in five minutes. White Pass is recognized as one of the greatest mountains to ride in the Northwest. Natural quarter-pipes, kickers, drops, cornices and chutes challenge even the most experienced boarder. It offers a half-pipe. It's got one of the most scenic and well-maintained cross-country areas in the Northwest. The 18 km of double track, which allows both classic and skating, circles a picturesque lake and then cl...
Snoqualmie
24 miles away 3 PHOTOS From the steep and deep to the high-speed buffed-out cruisers, from our gentle learning areas to our benchmark parks and pipe, diversity is a way of life around here. With four unique base areas and less than an hour from Seattle on Interstate 90, no other resort in the country offers so much variety with this much convenience. Consider it a buffet for the outdoor enthusiast! For the third year in a row, we stayed open longer than any other resort in the state, this season through Memorial Day. What can we say? We love spring skiing as much as you do! So if you're looking for a true escape this winter, look no further than The Summit. Just around the corner... ...A MILLION MILES AWAY!...
