Duck Lake is mostly a reasonably dried out place; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and August is the month with the least moisture. Alkali Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Duck Lake has to offer, you can camp at Williams Lake Resort. Rock Creek Falls is a glorious local attraction, and while here here do       explore nearby Johnsons Beach. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Willow Springs Motel near EWU. There's so much to do here at Duck Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Last Roundup Motel and RV Park is a brilliant site for that. Cottonwood Creek is right next door to Duck Lake and is always a bliss to check out. At Duck Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
