The Glacier Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and a nice spot for whitewater paddling is Downey Creek. At Downey Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Downey Lake. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. Stay the night       at Downey Creek Campground, and you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Sulphur Mountain Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Downey Lake; Fire Creek Trail is a perfect local trail, and Suiattle River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. Man, is there lots of entertaining things to do close to Downey Lake. Sulphur Creek Campground is a great campground nearby, and perfect hiking is available along the Sulphur Mountain Way. And if that's not enough there's                  heaps more exciting things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Bachelor Creek is a stream that you may run into during your stay. Downey Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Cascade Range. Downey Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
