The only problem is, the hike is really long, steep, up hill, and was exhausting for me. I would consider this an upper intermediate hike. Drunken Charlie Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and get your pulse rate up on the pleasant whitewater of Skykomish River. The amount of precipitation that falls at Lake Dorothy is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is December, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Cherry Lake close to Lake Dorothy, it's a picturesque lake.       There's so much to do here at Lake Dorothy that you need to camp here for a while, Tolt River John Macdonald Park is a magnificent location for that. And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do next to Lake Dorothy. Youngs Creek is a tremendous place to stop by, and Blue Boy West Golf Course is a golf course close by. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Northern Cascade Range rules! If you need a place to stay Best Western Sky Valley                  Inn, Monroe is a nice choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Dorothy has to offer, you can camp at Lake Bronson Assoc Nudist Park. A good close by hotel is GuestHouse Inn & Suites M; a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Sultan River. The warmest time of the year at Lake Dorothy arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lake Dorothy are in the 30's. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range.
