Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are really bountiful here at Deer Lake. A fine site for whitewater paddling close to Deer Lake is Cispus River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Independence Pass Interpretive Trail. All year is a nice time in the Northern Cascade Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Why not camp at Quartz Creek Big Trees Campground if you're here at Deer Lake; needless to say, this is a great vicinity for people who

| | like lakes, Heart Lake is a lake close by. If you came for an overnight stay Taidnapam Park is a wonderful location to camp, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Island Lake is just a very short distance away. For the duration of the long summer days at Deer Lake highs are ordinarily in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. the winter at Deer Lake temperatures descend to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Coldwater Trail; why not a little side visit to Falls Creek. Deer Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern
Cascade Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. You can run the rapids of Cowlitz River near Deer Lake; if you have time to spare, Mount Rainier National Park is a national park worth
stopping at. Deer Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Deer Lake; Fawn Lake Trail is a splendid local trail, and the view of delightful Black Mountain is good.

McBride Lake
 | 11 miles away 2/3 of the lake is gone. Kalama River now flows right thru the middle of what used to be the lake. It is amazing to see. The 8100 road is washed out at mile 11 so plan on a 2 mile walk....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. It is my understanding that during the 2007/2008 winter, a massive land slide occurred which filled the lake. McBride was once a great lake to catch and release fish throughout the day....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008.
