Drift down the rapids of Pilchuck Creek in a kayak, and you'll probably meet some people from Oak Harbor here. Summertime highs at Deer Lake generally tend to be in the 70's. It is very dry here at Deer Lake ordinarily; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is July. If you came for an overnight stay Port Susan Camping Club is a perfect site to camp. Lakes? Sure, Orrs Pond is close at hand.
