Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the neighborhood of De Hart Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Dominion Meadows Golf Course, and a visit to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is recommended. This lake is so wonderful. De Hart Lake is in close proximity

De Hart Lake. Around De Hart Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and September on the other hand is the driest. From De Hart Lake you acquire a splendid panorama of Coonrad
Hill, and wonderful skiing awaits you at 49 Degrees North.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful.... |

...ontinued upgrading and expansion within the existing Special Use Permit. A fourth lift was added in 1980 and new runs to support the lift have continued to attract an increasing number of visitors. In June of 1996 Chewelah Basin Ski Corporation was sold to the Eminger Family.
The ski area currently operates a full winter and limited summer schedule. The USFS permit area offers skiing on 905 acres with an additional 320 private acres of base and slope area for a total area of 1,225 acres. There are nearly 60 miles of groomed snowmobile trails adjacent to the ski area courtesy of the Washington State Department of Parks & Recreation. From November to April, five ski lifts serve a 541.7 acre trail network with a lift capacity of 1,888 skiers. Skiers and visitors are provided support in the day lodge on a year-round basis and parking is presently available for approximately 595 vehicles. The Chewelah Basin Ski Corporation under a US Forest Service Special Use Permit operates all facilities.
