For the period of the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 70's at D Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's; overnight lows at D Lake through the wintertime usually plunge into the 20's. A nice site for whitewater paddling near D Lake is Nason River, and D Lake is not the only place close by, Schaefer Lake is a close by lake. There's       so much to do here at D Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Nineteenmile Campground is a delightful site for that, and splendid hiking is available along the Duncan Hill Trail. D Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls during November; July is when it's the driest. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Going for a hike on the Miners Creek Trail is always a fine adventure, obviously you                  could also stop at Twin Lakes while you're here; it's not far at all. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great earth it would be. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Icicle Inn is a fine choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
