     This site, the Olympic Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. A glorious nearby hotel is Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, and the Aurora Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. The snow is fine at Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge; Boulder Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. Lake Crescent typically gets a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping
 
   is available at Log Cabin Resort and Trailer, and while you're here, do take a journey to Barnes Point. So much exciting stuff to do here at Lake Crescent, too good to be true. At Lake Crescent you always meet someone from Port Angeles; on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the North Fork Soleduck River Trail. Yeah, come here to Lake Crescent for a pleasant time.

               River - North Fork is so much fun, and do stop at Hidden Lake, it's a scenic lake. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Marymere Falls since you're here at Lake Crescent; some nearby water includes Aurora Creek. While you're here at Lake Crescent you can take a hike along the Pyramid Mountain Trail, and whitewater paddling is pleasant on Lyre River.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Olympic Mountains. For the duration of the summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Lake Crescent while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Crescent dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. You get a brilliant vista of Aurora Peak from Lake Crescent, and if you came for an overnight stay Lyre River Park is a good location to camp.

I just love Whiskey Creek Beach. I have been going here for years and now I take my mother every year for 5 days and she loves it also. My daughter and grandchildren have been here and they love it also. It is a great rustic family place. We relax listening to the ebbing tides at night, collect rocks and shells, roast marshmallows for smores and just have fun. Last time we fount a great fishing hole and handicap assessable and it had fire rings bathrooms tables camping sites right down the road. From WCB. You need to try this place if you REALLY want to relax....

Happy Lake Ridge Trail
I don't think it is as difficult as you say. The trail is well defined, and as a day hike last weekend it took less than 6 hours to do the loop from happy lake trailhead, around boulder lake, past the hot springs and back to my car....
