Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Crater Lake. Downey Creek Campground is a delightful local campground; Downey Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. If you need a place to stay Howard Johnson Snoqualmie/Summit       is a great choice. This is a good region for folks who like lakes. Chaval Lake is a lake around here; hiking along the Hidden Lake Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. At Crater Lake you can see Mount Chaval, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Suiattle River. All year is a fine time in the                  Northern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Why not camp at East Side Buck Creek Campground while you're here at Crater Lake; do take a hike on the Meadow Mountain Trail. Crater Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes?
