Crane Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. If you crave a little side trip, try Ape Canyon, and Smith Creek Butte is clearly visible from Crane Lake. Lewis River - North Fork has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and you'll discover a delightful lake called Hoo Hoo Lake. At Crane Lake through the summertime highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime

| | lows throughout the wintertime for Crane Lake tend to be in the 30's. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Crane Lake has to offer, you can camp at Swift Forest Campground; let's not forget Smith Creek which is a stream that you may run into during your stay. Cascade Range. Take a hike on the Muddy River Trail, and a stunning lake like Bear Lake is a glorious place to go to. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Crane Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Curly
Creek Campground is a good location for that, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Bean Creek Trail. So much cool stuff right next door to Crane Lake, absolutely remarkable. In case you don’t have a problem getting
wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Muddy River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Smith Creek Butte Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Skamania Lodge is a delightful choice. Crane Lake
is a beautiful lake in the Northern Cascade Range. Crane Lake is a reasonably wet place usually with a large amount of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is July.

 | 13 miles away 2/3 of the lake is gone. Kalama River now flows right thru the middle of what used to be the lake. It is amazing to see. The 8100 road is washed out at mile 11 so plan on a 2 mile walk....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. It is my understanding that during the 2007/2008 winter, a massive land slide occurred which filled the lake. McBride was once a great lake to catch and release fish throughout the day....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008.
