    Do stop by Cougar Lake while you're in this part of Washington. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. The summit of Bedal Peak can be spotted from Cougar Lake, and Penders Canyon is a splendid spot to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Camp Creek Ridge Trail is good fun. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Cougar Lake reach the 70's with overnight lows in the  
   50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; nighttime lows through the winter for Cougar Lake tend to be in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. Cougar Lake is right by the Meadow Mountain Trail, and get soaked paddling on Sloan Creek. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Northern Cascade Range. Chocwich Campground is a good campground here, and dry warm beds await you at Cascadia Inn. And that's not all you can do here at Cougar Lake.
 
               Camping at Cougar Lake is splendid fun, Bedal Campground is a splendid local campground; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Stephens Pass is quite near.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Nels Lake, and after a long day outdoors Skyriver Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Lost Creek Ridge Trail; whitewater paddling is great on Sauk River - North Fork. Cougar Lake is a rather wet place generally with a large amount of rain; through the month of November you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful.
