On a perfect day at Cougar Lake you can take a hike along the Driveway Butte Trail, and Ballard Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. There are other places here than Cougar Lake, for example Island Lake; one of the main traits of the surroundings of Cougar Lake is Island Mountain. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting things, what       a great earth it would be. First Hidden Lake is a glorious lake next to Cougar Lake, and soar down the rapids of Lost River in a kayak. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. If you came for an overnight stay Gate Creek Campground is a great site to camp. Little Willy Creek is a stream that you may encounter while here, and going for a hike along the Boundary Trail will let you absorb the                  natural beauty of this region. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Sun Mountain Lodge is a great choice; if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Monument Creek Trail. Cougar Lake gets very little rain; December is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. Summer at Cougar Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
