     If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Spokane is in the vicinity of Conger Pond, and a lake close by is Conklin Lake. At Conger Pond through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Conger Pond. Man, is there a lot of exciting stuff to do near Conger Pond. Bear Paw Camp & Retreat  
   Center is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant trip to Conklin Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon, and at Conger Pond you can observe Furport Hill.
Stay the night at No Name Lake Campground, and as expected Sandwich Creek is a striking stream that is worth a visit. The yearly rainfall here at Conger Pond is about average; most of the snow falls throughout December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
 
               Get dripping wet paddling on Priest River, and Conger Pond is not the only location close by, Horseshoe Lake is a close by lake.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
