Then you can go and dig through the shale and search for your own fossils. Take a trip down the road to Curlew to see the Ansorge Hotel & Museum. Built in 1903. Most of the furniture, clothing, dishes, pictures and numerous memorabilia are orginals and hands on atmosphere. On your way back, stop at the Antique car museum. Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful.... |
