    The beauty of Coal Lake is reason enough to stop by. Don't leave Coal Lake without first going for a hike along the Meadow Mountain Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Beaver Creek. So much cool stuff in the Northern Cascade Range, just impressive. There are great locations to look at along the Lost Creek Ridge Trail, and after a long day outdoors Steven's Pass Motel is a good place to spend a night or two. Clear Creek is a delightful  
   whitewater spot close to Coal Lake, and Coal Lake is a great spot to camp, Deer Creek Campground is a great spot.
And that's not everything there is to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. A nice site for whitewater paddling right next door to Coal Lake is Sauk River. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Goodman Lake; Stagecoach Inn is a good place to get some rest. If only every spot had this
 
               much outdoors cool things, what a great world it would be. There's fine hiking along the Camp Creek Ridge Trail, and camping at Coal Lake is fine fun, Perry Creek Campground is a fine local campground.
The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. The warmest time of the year at Coal Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Coal Lake. Coal Lake usually gets a good deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls through November, and July is when it's the driest.
