If you come at the right time of year, Hangman Creek offers some brilliant whitewater, and camping at Ruby's On Silver Lake is always a wonderful experience. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Silver Lake, and Clear Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Clear Lake Pines is a glorious local campground. Willow Springs Motel near EWU is a wonderful place to get some       rest. Clear Lake gets very little precipitation; December is when you get the most snow here, and August meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Clear Lake all through the summertime are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Clear Lake temperatures fall to the 10's.
