If you like lakes and you're in this part of Washington you can check out Chitwood Lake. Chitwood Lake frequently gets a good deal of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; July is when it's the driest. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. There's wonderful hiking along the Gee Point Trail; if you get bored of Chitwood Lake you could also stop at nearby Smelling Lake. During the summer months highs here at Chitwood Lake reach the 70's.  | 12 miles away WE USED TO FISH HUNT AND FOURWHEEL AT THE LAKE...We used to ride dirt bikes in the early 70's up to lake fontal, lotsa fun. I remember the cabins and little store that was up there when I was a kid in the 60's....I used to fish on Lake Fontal but now there isn't any fish.Warning: Lake Fontal Road is a dead end that does not lead to Lake Fontal. The lake is definitely not worth the trouble....We used to ride hores into lake fontal in the late 60's. There used to be a small resort there, complete with cabins, boat rentals,always a huge party opening weekend..(?) big foot sightings in the area...could of been the micro-dot.... |
