    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Washington you can check out Charlia Lakes. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Olympic Mountains, too fine to be true. Near Charlia Lakes you find the Tubal Cain Mine Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and Dosewallips River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by. Summer at Charlia Lakes arrives with high temperatures in the 60's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Through the  
   winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's with temperatures at Charlia Lakes dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. All year is a great time in the Olympic Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Going for a hike on the Baldy Trail is always a fine adventure, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Royal Creek Trail.
Charlia Lakes is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Dosewallips Campground is a fine local campground,
 
               and obviously West Branch Home Creek flows through this area. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in close proximity to Charlia Lakes. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dosewallips River, and one of the major traits of the surroundings of Charlia Lakes is Buckhorn Mountain. A nice site to camp here at Charlia Lakes is River Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites.
At Charlia Lakes you don’t see much rain; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Buckhorn Pass is in close proximity to Charlia Lakes and is a good location; after a long day outdoors Juan De Fuca Cottages is a great site to spend a night or two.
