Chain Lakes is a wet spot that gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is when it's the driest. The snow is great at Stephens Pass; the sight of lovely Bulls Tooth is perfect. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Icicle Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay French Creek Campground is a wonderful place to camp.
Just can't get enough of the Northern

Cascade Range. A nice spot for whitewater paddling next to Chain Lakes is Nason River, and Black Pine Campground is a delightful campground nearby. Chain Lakes is located in the Northern Cascade Range. Lake Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot near Chain Lakes, and don't leave Chain Lakes without first going for a hike along the Davis Peak Lookout Trail.
If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be. A lake nearby is Lanham

Lake; going for a hike on the Lake Michael Trail is always a magnificent adventure. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more exciting stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. If you get bored of Chain Lakes, you could also stop at close by Doelle Lakes; if you're here, you could pop by Cuitin Creek.
Summertime highs at Chain Lakes regularly tend to be in the 60's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Chain Lakes.

Fish Lake Campground
Watch for grizzly. Esp. early spring and fall....

Tucquala Lake

This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....

Davis Peak Lookout Trail

I  hated hiking it but the things I saw were amazing!!!!!...

Napeequa Crossing Campground
13 miles away
Well, most of the information in this little blurb is wrong: The nearest Metro area is not Ellensburg, it is Leavenworth. Lake Elsley? I have never heard of it, and have been in the area for 30 years. There is no such place called Indian Ponds anywhere around the campground. Though a beautiful hike, Napeequa Crossing to Twin Lakes is not an easy stroll, it is approximately 3.2+ miles one way, with many switchbacks, and to the average city person, a hard slog. This Article makes it sound like White river falls are on the way to Twin Lakes, which they are not. They are reached by driving on up the valley 5 more miles or so to the correct turnout. Also, it should be mentioned that from the beginning of camping season till Mid August, you should slather yourself in Bug repellant to keep from being eaten alive by Mosquitoes. The campground is located on the confluence of the White and Napeequa Rivers, which flow into Lake Wenatchee....

The closest place to stay around Lake Wenatchee is The Dirty face Lodge.? 10 Bedrooms+ and lots for room for huge families.? Great hiking up Dirty Face and surrounding areas....

Bonnie Lake
18 miles away
Bonney lake Is not trained. It is drained in the winter, who ever runs the dam doesn't man it in winter so they let it drain. There was talk that they would not fill it any more....Just heard that Bonnie Lake is drained in the winter and then refilled in the Spring. Can you tell me why?...

Tumwater Campground
19 miles away
Tumwater is my favorite campground. I have been to so many because I am a WA native. There are many sites that sit on the river or creek. The grounds are beautiful and plenty close to Leavenworth....

Wish Poosh Campground
19 miles away
We overnighted at this campsite a couple of weekends ago. The camp hosts were wonderful, they were informative and kept the grounds and the bathrooms spic-n-span clean. They were always in their golf cart putting around taking care of this or that. They scolded us for staying the night in a place we weren't supposed to, and I felt bad about that because I knew we shouldn't have stayed there but my partner insisted and it was his birthday. I knew they were just keeping order at the campground they were in charge of, and I appreciated that. Keep up the good work!...

Stephens Pass
20 miles away

Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...
