Dosewallips River is a tremendous whitewater spot right next door to Carter Pond. Lakes? Sure, Kitsap Lake is in close proximity. The high level of rainfall makes Carter Pond a quite wet spot; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. You can run the rapids of Big Quilcene River right next       door to Carter Pond, and Carter Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Erland Point Mobile Home Park is a brilliant local campground. Any time is a brilliant time at Carter Pond if you like the outdoors. McCormick Woods Golf Course is a splendid golf course close by, and a fine close by hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites. There's so much to do here at Carter Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Carrington Mobile Home and RV Park is a magnificent                  place for that, and a trip to Chico Bay is always a magnificent idea. This lake is so wonderful. At Carter Pond through the summertime highs are in the 70's; the overnight is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Carter Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
