Carp Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Carp Lake, for example Lake Louise, and dry warm beds await you at Thornewood Castle Inn And Gardens. If you need a place to stay Best Western Lakewood Motor Inn is a great choice. There's so much to do here at Carp Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Oaknoll RV Park is a great place for that. During the long summer days highs here at Carp Lake reach

| | the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Carp Lake tend to be in the 30's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Nisqually River, and at Carp Lake you always meet someone from Olympia. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course right next door to Carp Lake is FT Steilacoom Golf Course, and if you came to camp Rainier Villa Mobile Park and RV is a splendid site | |

to do that. Chambers Bay is relatively in the vicinity of Carp Lake, and a glorious forest close by is Curry Woods. Having a great time at Carp Lake is uncomplicated. Boise Cascade Aeration Lagoon Dam is a wonderful site in the
vicinity of Carp Lake, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Murray Creek. Swamps like Park Marsh are fun to visit, and not far from Carp Lake you'll come across Boyles Lake which is a pretty lake. From Carp Lake you get
a wonderful view of Kay Hill. Carp Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July.

Nisqually River
 | ...s, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over the cars and not instantly blow there raft apart.. Just keep a good eye out for any colors that don't belong in the river. Sometimes its just a small corne... |
