Try Gee Creek, and camping is available at Violette's Villa. For the duration of the summertime here at Canvasback Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Canvasback Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Tri-Mountain Golf Course is a delightful way to kill some time, and       going for a hike on the Georges Peak Trail is always a great adventure. Lakes are such serene sites, why not explore Long Lake in close proximity to Canvasback Lake; close by you hit upon Fishtrap Shoal which is a perfect site to stop by. During your stay at Canvasback Lake do stop at nearby Lyons Beach, and you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Widgeon Lake. Kalama River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby; if you're here, do take a trip to Warrior                  Point. Canvasback Lake gets a large amount of water; all through the month of December you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is July. During your visit to Canvasback Lake you'll meet some folks from Longview-Kelso for sure, and on a glorious day you can pop by Bachelor Island Slough, a swamp in the vicinity of Canvasback Lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Canvasback Lake, checking out Warrior Rock is a must, and Best Western Oak Meadows Inn is a great site to get some rest. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Canvasback Lake.
