Campbell Lake is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Peaceful Pines Camp Ground is a nice place to camp nearby; there's whitewater on Hangman Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Lakes are such serene places, why not pop by Ballinger Lake near Campbell Lake, and swamps don’t sound that good       but Turnbull Slough near Campbell Lake is reasonably good. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Campbell Lake has to offer, you can camp at Williams Lake Resort, and if you need a spot to stay Willow Springs Motel near EWU is a good choice. Campbell Lake is a location that is reasonably arid typically; December is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months is July. This spot rocks, just explore all                  the entertaining things to do near Campbell Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Spokane River. For the duration of the summer months at Campbell Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's.
