Tucquala Lake
1 PHOTO This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....
Fish Lake Campground
Watch for grizzly. Esp. early spring and fall....
Davis Peak Lookout Trail
I hated hiking it but the things I saw were amazing!!!!!...
Wish Poosh Campground
12 miles away We overnighted at this campsite a couple of weekends ago. The camp hosts were wonderful, they were informative and kept the grounds and the bathrooms spic-n-span clean. They were always in their golf cart putting around taking care of this or that. They scolded us for staying the night in a place we weren't supposed to, and I felt bad about that because I knew we shouldn't have stayed there but my partner insisted and it was his birthday. I knew they were just keeping order at the campground they were in charge of, and I appreciated that. Keep up the good work!...
Miller Peak Trail
13 miles away The Longitude is 130 45 54 16. And Leaven worth is at least 30 miles away by auto....
Toketie Lake
14 miles away I liked the little lake. I went straight up the canyon side from the last place the Snow Lakes trail comes near the creek, a little above the gully that comes down from Toketie. There is a puzzle at the top where the gully turns south 1/4 M from the lake. I climbed a small cliff there, could find no other way. The lake was pretty. Total distance about 3 miles one way....This is hystericcal. <.....> The short route is 7 or so miles and a 4000ft+ of elevation gain on a ''trail'' that is a more of a climbers path that most climbers avoid. Rat Creek is a season creek that drops 6000ft in 2 miles though loose overgrown terrain. The area is incredibly beutiful but take my advice and stay on maintained trails unless you know what your doing....
Tumwater Campground
17 miles away Tumwater is my favorite campground. I have been to so many because I am a WA native. There are many sites that sit on the river or creek. The grounds are beautiful and plenty close to Leavenworth....
Stephens Pass
27 miles away 1 PHOTO Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...
