paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Teanaway River, and here at Cabin Lake you can catch a glimpse of Lookout Mountain. Have a good hiking adventure along the County Line Trail; dry warm beds await
you at Best Western Snowcap Lodge. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Yakima River, and a great spot to stop at close by is Horseshoe Canyon. Musser Creek is close
to Cabin Lake and is always a pleasure to check out; locations like Bristol Flat are glorious to go to. Not much precipitation falls here at Cabin Lake; most of the snow falls all through December, and the driest month of the
year is July. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Cabin Lake, for example Big Lake, and do take a hike on the Miller Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Stewart Lodge is a pleasant choice; Cabin Lake is not far at all from Ellensburg.

Toketie Lake
 | 16 miles away I liked the little lake. I went straight up the canyon side from the last place the Snow Lakes trail comes near the creek, a little above the gully that comes down from Toketie. There is a puzzle at the top where the gully turns south 1/4 M from the lake. I climbed a small cliff there, could find no other way. The lake was pretty. Total distance about 3 miles one way....This is hystericcal. <.....> The short route is 7 or so miles and a 4000ft+ of elevation gain on a ''trail'' that is a more of a climbers path that most climbers avoid. Rat Creek is a season creek that drops 6000ft in 2 miles though loose overgrown terrain. The area is incredibly beutiful but take my advice and stay on maintained trails unless you know what your doing.... |
