Camping at Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park is always a good experience, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Colville is a delightful choice. Playing golf is lots of fun at Chewelah Golf & Country Club, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Doe Lake. It is very waterless here at Buck Lake frequently; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July.

In 1976, the U.S. Forest Service approved a master plan allowing for continued upgrading and expansion within the existing Special Use Permit. Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
