Having a good time in the Northern Cascade Range is simple. Lakes? Sure, Farnsworth Lake is in the neighborhood; playing golf is lots of fun at Nisqually Valley Golf Course. Here at Bowman Lake you'll possibly meet some people from Olympia; Martin way Mobile Home Park is a glorious campground nearby. Argonne Forest is worth stopping at, and if you came for an overnight stay Nisqually Plaza RV Park is a perfect site to camp.

Northern Cascade Range has to offer. After a long day outdoors Thornewood Castle Inn And Gardens is a great site to spend a night or two; a cool spot to visit is Eighteenth Infantry Bluff.

Bowman Lake is unbeatable! Soar down the rapids of Deschutes River in a kayak, and at Bowman Lake you can spot Bare Hill. All the water falling down from the sky makes Bowman Lake a wet location; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture.

Nisqually River
| ...isqually is that it is like most rivers, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over the cars and not instantly blow there raft apart.. Just keep a good eye out for any colors that don't belong in the r... |
