After a long day outdoors GuestHouse Inn & Suites M is a magnificent site to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Bowers Lake, Lake Julia is nearby. You can run the rapids of Stillaguamish River - South Fork close to Bowers Lake, and Bowers Lake is not the only site close by, Chitwood Lake is a close by lake. Throughout the long summer days here at Bowers Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the

| | winter this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Bowers Lake are in the 30's. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. There's so much to do here at Bowers Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Turlo Campground is a good site for that, and Best Western Sky Valley Inn is a good site to get some rest. to discover along the Gee Point Trail, and Bowers Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Verlot Campground is a splendid local campground. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more entertaining things to do
in the Northern Cascade Range. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great globe it would be. Don't leave Bowers Lake without first going for a hike along the Finney Peak Trail, and a tremendous location
for whitewater paddling is Pilchuck River. Bowers Lake gets a lot of water; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month.

 | 13 miles away WE USED TO FISH HUNT AND FOURWHEEL AT THE LAKE...We used to ride dirt bikes in the early 70's up to lake fontal, lotsa fun. I remember the cabins and little store that was up there when I was a kid in the 60's....I used to fish on Lake Fontal but now there isn't any fish.Warning: Lake Fontal Road is a dead end that does not lead to Lake Fontal. The lake is definitely not worth the trouble....We used to ride hores into lake fontal in the late 60's. There used to be a small resort there, complete with cabins, boat rentals,always a huge party opening weekend..(?) big foot sightings in the area...could of been the micro-dot.... |

Evidence of large fresh water muscles are often found on the aging docks of the 1920s & 1930s cottages that are along the lake. In the early morning & evening in the summertime, hot air balloons drift along the edge of the lake just above the treeline between the lake and the Snohomish River.... |
