Beautiful Bluff Lake has much to offer visitors. Bluff Lake is located in the Northern Cascade Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. Bird Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore; why not take a refreshing hike along the Highline Trail. Take a hike on the Divide Camp Trail; Bluff Lake is a tremendous site to visit for more than one day, Island Campground is a tremendous site to camp nearby. At Bluff Lake throughout

| | the summertime months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's, and overnight lows at Bluff Lake all through the wintertime generally plunge into the 20's. This place, Bluff Lake, it simply has so much outdoors fun stuff. The top of Little Mount Adams is easily seen from Bluff Lake, and Bird Creek Meadows is right here at Bluff Lake. is so much fun, and Crooked Creek Falls is a good local attraction. All year is a good time in the Northern Cascade Range if you fancy the outdoors. Crooked Creek is a brilliant location to stop by, and whitewater paddling is
magnificent on Trout Lake Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Bluff Lake, you could also visit scenic Mirror Lake; Best Western Hood River Inn is a good location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bluff Lake; Round The Mountain Trail is a delightful local trail, and Cold Springs Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. A lot of rainfall falls at Bluff Lake; December is the month that gets the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Bench Lake
 | 1 PHOTO This is Bench Lake in the Bird Creek area of Mt. Adams, Washington. This is located on the Yakama Reservation portion of land called Tract D which was Treaty land deeded back to the tribes in 1973. Mt. Adams plays peekaboo here with Little Mt. Adams.
The ranger of this area, Richard Canapo, stays in a trailer up the hill at the entrance by Mirror Lake and is a good source of local information as well as maps of the trails in the area. Permits are as follows:
Entry permit... $5. 00 for a 5 day entry fee
Camping and fishing permits are in addition to entry fees and are:
Camping... $10. 00 per night per space Fishing ... $5. 00 per day or $10. 00 for 5 days
You can have up to 12 pieces of split firewood per night of camping.
I should add that the road in to this lake is a bit rough and rocky, a narrow dirt road. Be cautious watching for other traffic, and I would not take an extremely low car in here. Last trip someone put a hole in a crankcase of a PT Cruiser... This can be avoided by careful driving! ... |

 | 17 miles away Hi, I have tried to climb this mountain, but the there are very little trail markers and the Columbian write ups on directions were not even close to actuality. I am trying to locate specific directions since there are several different forks. You have all these coordinates but if you don't have or use a GPS they are useless. Alas, you can't help me anymore than what's available out there, which is nothing really.... |
