Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Lyre River, and Log Cabin Resort and Trailer is a wonderful campground nearby. There are other sites here than Blue Lake, for example       Mud Lake, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Soleduck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful view of pretty Mount Appleton is available from Blue Lake, and hiking along the Boulder Lake Trail is magnificent fun. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Olympic Mountains. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Happy Lake Ridge Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. This lake                  is so wonderful. Bridge Creek is a fine local stream, and a visit to Olympic National Park is recommended. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Blue Lake. Not far from Blue Lake, you'll stumble on Three Horse Lake which is a charming lake, and Blue Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Indian Valley Motel and RV Park is a splendid place to camp nearby. Through the warm months here at Blue Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Blue Lake. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Elwha River, and Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff. A fine place in close proximity to Blue Lake is Appleton Pass, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Port Angeles for sure. A good deal of rainfall falls at Blue Lake; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
