If you are in this part of Washington make sure to pay a visit to Blanca Lake. Be careful coming to the Northern Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Glacier Basin is a magnificent site to check out, and there's nice hiking along the Lost Creek Ridge Trail. Blanca Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking

and a great location to camp here at Blanca Lake is Monte Cristo Campground. Blanca Lake is located in the Northern Cascade Range. Just can't get enough of Blanca Lake. Not far from Blanca Lake, you'll stumble on Virgin Lake which
is a picturesque lake, and everyone close by loves skiing at Alpental. No need to travel far to explore interesting stuff like Columbia Glacier, and there's whitewater on Sauk River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
The Meadow Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Skykomish River - North Fork. Summer at Blanca Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's.
Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Blanca Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.

I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out... |
