Do stop by Big Bull Lake while you're in this part of Washington. On a wonderful day at Big Bull Lake you can take a hike along the Coldwater Trail; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Fawn Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the wonderful whitewater of Hoffstadt Creek, and Big Bull Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Merrill Lake Campground is a delightful local campground. Having a good time in the Northern
Cascade Range is painless. High temperatures at Big Bull Lake during the summertime months are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Big Bull Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.

McBride Lake
 | 2/3 of the lake is gone. Kalama River now flows right thru the middle of what used to be the lake. It is amazing to see. The 8100 road is washed out at mile 11 so plan on a 2 mile walk....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. It is my understanding that during the 2007/2008 winter, a massive land slide occurred which filled the lake. McBride was once a great lake to catch and release fish throughout the day....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. Indian Hole Campground
