    Do stop by Big Bull Lake while you're in this part of Washington. Big Bull Lake is a relatively wet place commonly with a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. Going for a hike along the Toutle River Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; if you're here, you could also take a look at picturesque Lakeview Peak Lake. Big Bull Lake is a  
   beautiful lake in the Northern Cascade Range.
So much fun stuff close to Big Bull Lake, absolutely phenomenal. On a wonderful day at Big Bull Lake you can take a hike along the Coldwater Trail; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Fawn Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Do take a look at Merrill Lake close to Big Bull Lake, it's a gorgeous lake, and a great location to camp here at Big Bull Lake is Cougar RV Park. There's whitewater
 
               on Toutle - South Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and a great close by hotel is Best Western Battle Ground Inn & Suites.
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. Get your pulse rate up on the wonderful whitewater of Hoffstadt Creek, and Big Bull Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Merrill Lake Campground is a delightful local campground. Having a good time in the Northern Cascade Range is painless. High temperatures at Big Bull Lake during the summertime months are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Big Bull Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.

McBride Lake
2/3 of the lake is gone. Kalama River now flows right thru the middle of what used to be the lake. It is amazing to see. The 8100 road is washed out at mile 11 so plan on a 2 mile walk....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. It is my understanding that during the 2007/2008 winter, a massive land slide occurred which filled the lake. McBride was once a great lake to catch and release fish throughout the day....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. Indian Hole Campground

Indian Hole Campground no longer exists. It was apparently named for the abundance of native artifacts found in the area by early settlers. The camp was owned and maintained by St Regis Paper Co. In later years it fell into disrepair and finally closed in the 1980s....
