    If you are in Lewis county it's always a good idea to stop by Bertha May Lake. So much exciting stuff in the Northern Cascade Range, just inspiring. There's so much to do here at Bertha May Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mounthaven Resort is a great place for that, and Bertha May Lake is not the only location nearby, Granite Lake is a nearby lake. A lake nearby is Pothole Lake, and if the weather is beautiful, you obtain a tremendous vista of Osborne  
   Mountain from Bertha May Lake. Mount Rainier National Park is one of the destinations in close proximity to Bertha May Lake that are great to go to, and Bertha May Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, High Rock Campground is a brilliant local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. There are great locations to explore along the Silver Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Buckley; nearby you stumble on the
 
               Osborne Mountain Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. And that's not all you can do here in the Northern Cascade Range. A fine site for whitewater paddling near Bertha May Lake is Silver Creek; naturally Teeley Creek is a lovely stream that is worth stopping at.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. If only every location had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cispus River, and going for a hike on the Big Creek Trail is always a tremendous adventure. For the period of the days of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Bertha May Lake while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Bertha May Lake sink into the 30's.
Bertha May Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.

July 19, 2008-- We hiked up to Mt. Beljica this date. I would not recommend it just yet because of the unusually heavy snowfall last winter, unless you're very familiar with the trail. The entire trail is still snow covered from Lake Christine on up to the top of Mt. Beljica. We lost the trail, and then found it again.... that was a bit unnerving....
