Much rain falls at Benson Lake; the wettest month of the year is generally       December, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is July. You can run the rapids of Duckabush River next to Benson Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Mason Lake. Be careful coming to Benson Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Why not stop at Courner Dam while you're here, and there's fine hiking along the Mount Jupiter Trail. Through the warm months highs here at Benson Lake reach                  the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Benson Lake tend to be in the 30's. If you're popping by Benson Lake from Shelton, you won't be the only one, and Alderbrook Resort And Spa is a nice spot to get some rest.
