Trail. On a beautiful day you obtain a vista of Deadmans Hill from Beaver Lake, and a journey to Beaver Falls will fill your soul with pleasant feelings. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are great; Lizard Lake is a lake that's
near Beaver Lake; Cold Creek is near Beaver Lake and is always a pleasure to have a look at. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Olympic Mountains. There's so much to do here
at Beaver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bear Creek Campground is a good place for that, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Soleduck River. You'll wish for more hours
in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Beaver Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Beaver Lake a pretty wet spot; most of the rain falls all through November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. And if
that's not sufficient there's a heap more cool things to do in the Olympic Mountains. You're almost certainly into lakes, Lake Pleasant is one of those close by, and if you came to camp Clallam River Campground is a nice spot to do that.

Bear Creek Campground
 | Why is it called Deadmans Hill? There is supposed to be a forest road that navigates the north side of Deadmans Hill which is actually a series of mountain tops covered in thick forests about 2,500 feet tall. I have camped at Bear Creek since the summer of 2003 and it is really in the center of everything in the North Olympic Peninsula. This is the best area I have ever camped at in the US but there is no hot shower. Stars on a clear night are so great and the cool nights are appreciated even when it is really hot over in Seattle.... |
Rugged Ridge Trail
 | 10 miles away The distance came up as 3.2mi (or 4.6k) on our map. That was to the River. Nice hike....I just hiked half of this trail on January 20,2008. It's a beautiful quiet trail thru lush forest. Trailhead is difficult to find. From Route 101 in Forks take FR 29. After 11.3 mi take a right onto FR 2913 for 2.2 mi to the end where the trail starts.... |
