Through the summer here at Lake Beauty, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's; the night is somewhat colder of course, frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Beauty temperatures dip to the 30's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Quinault River - North Fork, and hiking along the Long Ridge Trail is

Ridge Ski Lodge is brilliant; of course, this is a splendid vicinity for folks who like lakes, Kimta Lake is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Quality Inn Uptown is a wonderful choice. Lake Beauty
commonly gets a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is July. After a long day outdoors Lake Quinault Lodge is a fine place to spend a night or two, and Lake Beauty is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Graves Creek Campground is a perfect local campground.

Yes the Elwha River trail is only 18 miles away but that is by trail straight through the heart of the Olympic Mtns. And park. ...Wynoochee Falls campground has been closed and the campground sign, firepits, restroom and tables removed. You?ll have to drive about 15 miles of gravel road to get here. There is a rock pedestal with a missing sign along the Wynoochee road 4 miles NE of the lake near the end of the road. This marks the parking area and access trail down to the falls. The ? mile trail is interrupted with large ditches to discourage access and camping. The waterfall is only about 100 feet high, (maybe less) but very picturesque, with a large clear basin at its base and an outlet scoured through granite rocks.... |
